Robert Emmetts played the first round of their championship at home tonight against St Laurences 2 . The rain poured down before throw in which left conditions very slippery under foot .The girls from Emmetts started well scoring the games first 2pts, Laurences responded with a goal .The next 20 minutes saw play go end to end with Laurences doing better in front of the posts to see the score at halftime Laurences 3.04 to Emmetts 1.04. The second half saw some fine defending from Robert Emmetts holding Laurences to only 1 score meanwhile Robert Emmetts never gave up working scoring 5pts in the second half and having some more chances which went wide of the posts. St Laurences Pam Grufferty scored 1.01 with Kim Mackey scoring 2.01 and Iona Grufferty played really well in defense. For Robert Emmetts Nicole Gorey scored 3pts Rebecca McCormack 1.02 and Roisin Dunleavy and Kayleigh Conroy scored 1pt each .Sally Ann Hamill and Ash Keane did well in defense .
