Kildare will once again be without Daniel Flynn for the foreseeable future as he returns to Australia this week to resume his Aussie Rules career.

The Johnstownbridge clubman had returned home from Australia before Christmas having left the Port Adelaide club citing homesickness as the reason for his early return.

The news of Flynn's return was a welcome boost to the Kildare senior squad. However, he attended an AFL trial in London recently and has decided to resume his career in Adelaide.

Kildare manager Jason Ryan revealed that Flynn had only attended a few training sessions since his return and stressed to the Leinster Leader that although the Johnstownbridge man would be a loss, they have already dealt with that.

"We never really had Daniel this year at all apart from three or four training sessions, but I do want to wish him well," said Ryan. "He's a significant loss to Kildare football."
