Flynn amongst AFL hopefuls
April 09, 2014
Kildare's Daniel Flynn.
Despite returning home from Australia and seemingly turning his back on a career in the AFL, Kildare's Daniel Flynn is this week attending an Aussie Rules training camp in the U.K.
Surprisingly, the Johnstownbridge clubman has travelled to Tadgh Kennelly's camp in London along with fellow Kildare men Paddy Brophy, Sean Hurley and Flynn's younger brother Luke.
Flynn had spent four months in Australia where he was on the books of Port Adelaide, but he returned home citing homesickness as the reason for his departure.
The news of Flynn's return was a welcome boost to Kildare as they failed to retain their Division One status, but if all three members of the senior squad were to be offered contracts in the AFL, it would be a huge blow to the Lilywhites ahead of the Leinster championship.
