Speculation is increasing in Kildare that Eoghan O’Flaherty has taken up an invitation to return to the squad.

O’Flaherty dropped out of the squad last season citing a lack of appetite for the game as his reason for departing.

The 29-year-old wore the Lilywhite jersey for ten years before opting out, but the Carbury man seems to have been rejuvenated from the break away.

The news of O’Flaherty’s return will somewhat offset the disappointment of losing Johnny Byrne and Mick O’Grady who are both going travelling.

There is also speculation that Daniel Flynn may opt off the squad as well, which is not good news for manager Cian O’Neill and his new backroom team of Tom Cribbin, Karl O’Dwyer and Alan Flynn.
