The late Dean Logan

The Kilcullen GAA club in Co Kildare have been left shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Dean Logan last weekend.

Mr Logan was killed after being struck by a car on the M9 motorway between junctions 2 and 3 early on Sunday morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The community of Kilcullen has since been united in grief with tributes pouring in for the town native, who turned 40 last October.

Kilcullen GAA club chairman Des O'Brien described Mr Logan's untimely passing as blow to the community and offered sympathies on behalf of the club to his family.

"Although Dean did not play as an adult with the club, he is remembered by many here as an underage player," Mr O'Brien told the Leinster Leader.

"This news came as a great shock and the club extends its heartfelt sympathy to Dean's mother, father and siblings as well as all those who knew him."

Mr Logan's requiem mass takes place tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Church of the Sacred Heart and St. Brigid, Kilcullen at 11am followed by his funeral to Newlands Cross crematorium.
