Kildare GAA has led the tributes to sports photographer Adrian Melia, whose death occurred on Monday night.
Adrian, who was a familiar figure on GAA sidelines across the Shortgrass County, passed away after a long battle with cancer. A native of Robertstown, he was diagnosed with colon cancer over two years ago, and bravely fought the disease. A number of fundraisers were held to fund his treatment, including a quiz night in the Killashee House, Naas last June which was attended by some of Kildare's biggest sporting names.
A brilliant photographer who covered a wide variety of sports, Adrian was on duty right up until last weekend. He will be laid to rest in Allen Cemetery after Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, Cooleragh tomorrow morning.
May he rest in peace.
TweetKildare GAA send our deepest sympathies to the family & friends of Adrian Melia who sadly passed away last night.
