Kerry Vs Armagh NFL 2012
He will start the exact same 15 barring injuries. I see your point of view regarding Sheehan, but I feel he is now teh midfield man and all the rest are being tested to see who will slot beside him, I would have loved to have seen Donnacha Walsh at number 6 for the league but injuries have robbed us of that. But i feel he will pick the same starting 15. Maher is only coming back from injury so Scanlon will resume again at 8 on Satnight, Curtin will be pushing for a start but depends on Darran whether he is still carrying that knock or not.

What changes would you like to see made for the game the next day?
Personally I would like to give Darren a rest and put Bryan Sheehan CHF leaving Maher and Scanlon Midfield good idea or am I being absurd?

When all is said and done it is still only the first round but there were encouraging signs there; It appears that there has been a big emphasis on fitness as opposed to ball play and sharpness but that is expected this time of year.
Of the 6 backs the usual were standing out, Marc, Tomas was outstanding, Killian, Enright did the simple things right which is perfect for a corner back, Crowley was fair in his first outing but will get better with matches, of the newcomers McGuire impressed the most was a constant "dirty ball" winner from breaks, was always available for offloads from keeper/fullback line and supported the half forward line, Sheehan is building on the form shown last year and he is def the main man this year for midfield, has all the attributes, high fielding, fitness and can score from play and frees, he is an awesome sight in full flight taking the pass from the half forward and steaming forward, Scanlon looked rusty but I would start him again next week with Maher in reserve as he is only returning from injury,
Forwards lacked sharpness, only Darran, Paul (who touched the ball 40 times over the 70 minutes) BJ Keane looked sharp, O'Donoghue was impressive but Star and Sean Ban looked out of place, The subs, Callaghan but more importantly Paddy Curtin that got the forward 6 moving, it was interesting to see Star on the wing but the movement of Curtin/O'Donoghue inside for last 20 was very good,
Some good some bad but if we win our home games we should get the semi final spot, next up Armagh, I expect the same team to start, but teh tighter pitch might suit teh northern boys

Yes Chicago, Sean O' Sullivan looked out of his depth, kicked away easy ball. Also, Scanlon looked way off the pace. I fear he may be past his best at this stage.

Thanks DUB1. Well pleased with the performance, the young lads were great and Tomás was excellent. I aired my doubts about BJ Keane on here recently but he showed great guts and determination and was rewarded with a few nice points.
Roll on Saturday night in Tralee.

I must say i was delighted the young boys got their chance,i know its only the league but i thought keane and odonoghue looked good. they have the speed we were lacking the last few years inside (no offence to gooch) and they looked very confident as well which we need. also enright is deffo the real deal and maybe maguire as well but like i said earlier sean sullivan looked lost out there and should never have started. i hope jack gives them a few more runs and if they keep this up he will have a nice problem later trying to pick the team. on a sour note that elbow by fennell was a disgrace but as we know he will get off like the rest of them.

if you pull and drag and tackle around the neck what do you expect?
You should be more concerned with Dublin as after last night you should be.
it might only be the league but is clear you have 2 forwards and when those boys are out you struggle.
please god we meet in the summer.

Delighted Delighted Delighted.... I know its shadow boxing in Feb and really has no bearing on things but... Lads the fire is in the belly....
Positives. Galvin starting & finishing the game and with Thomas they won lot around the middle.
Sheehan played very well apart from the misses he still played well winning plenty of kickouts and scoring from play.
The new lads, Crowley O'Donoghue Barry John and Shane enright were brilliant!! nobody tell me we have nobody coming through.
Negatives.
I hate naming players but one or two had a shocker of a game... Brendan Kealy kicked it short in the first half and it went out over the sideline on the hogan side. the EXACT same thing he did in september.
Star... well im getting fed up with the constant giving out and moaning to the ref. He was captain and should act like one instead on this constant giving out.
Curtain came on and went in full forward and he was very good, very good under the high ball and he might be an option in there...
Delighted with the win...

Kerry superior all over the pitch last night, Dubs looked sluggish and lethargic, could have been a lot worse if Sheehan had converted more frees too! Like the AI final though many of Kerrys scores seem to come from frees these days though, something which a more disciplined defence than Dublin will not give away as easily!
All in all an enjoyable night with the new kerry lads looking good and Dublin with a lot of shaking out to do!

This is only done when the home team welcomes the All ireland champions to their Home ground, ie Kerry in the first league gqame last year gave a guard of honour to the Cork team in Austin Stack Park as they were the all ireland champions. I don;t think that it is done on away fixtures.
Yerra, sure isn't Croke Park pretty much a home venue for the Kingdom!!
Seriously though looking forward to the game. Cracking way start the year.
Tell you what we'll give ye half one.... just at one side of the field
