RKF it was dug up and moved to Connacht about 50 years ago, hence why they have no Ulster titles since then!
And John Boss, I'm only taking the mick, I know all about them! I have a grandfather from Monaghan who has a lot of admiration for that team. But ya, there's WUMs everywhere you turn these days.

We have to be careful not to criticise Cavan as they have a great footballing history. My grandparents would have travelled to watch cavan play and would have spoke of the O Rriillys etc. who were household names of the time. All of Ulster respected Cavan then as we did Down when they were the first occupied county to make the breakthrough. That history is steeped in the Cavan county and its supporters are very respectful of the game. Kerry has a much bigger history and these sort of submissions criticising Kerry or any other county annoy me as they are bordering on childish. I have had many submissions not published for reaons I cannot easliy determine. I respect the webmaster decision on deciding what is appropiate but then I see threads as trivial as this and wonder why that is allowed?

Right, I'm breaking my own rule here by replying to this but I have to help my fellow countyman RKF!
RKF - Cavan is a townland in County Leitrim. In Cavan they're famed for putting forks into the sugar bowls, hanging teabags out on the line to dry and reuse, eating their dinners in the presses and drawers, peeling oranges in their pockets, taking the lightbulb out of the fridge to save electricity, filling petrol to 20.01 Euro but paying 20 Euro, wearing socks inside out after wearing them the right way around, filling whiskey bottles with cold tea and giving them as presents, sending money as payment in the post that got "lost", emptying the rubbish out of a black plastic bag and reusing it...........................
I'm sure you've know them RKF, you must have heard of some Cavan man stories?!

HATS off to Tyrone.
They won a classic. They have now won three All-Ireland titles in five years.
They have legitimised the quality of these victories by beating Kerry on each occasion. They have developed and improved under the excellent stewardship of Mickey Harte. Harte has instilled a team ethic and a group bond unique in sport. He is maximising his resources and he keeps asking new questions. While he would shy away from the cult of the manager he is the best in the business.
In a previous existence, Tyrone had to rely almost totally on Peter Canavan for scores. Pre-Mickey Harte in the 1995 All-Ireland final Canavan was almost a one man scoring machine against Dublin. Yesterday they had nine different players that scored, eight contributing from play. Seán Cavanagh was outstanding. He led the way and made countless decisive interventions. He was Tyrone's scorer-in-chief scoring five from play including two massive points at crucial stages in the second half and kicked the Ulster men into a lead they were not going to relinquish in the 63rd minute.
But it wasn't just his scoring prowess which was crucial. As Kerry surged at Tyrone late on, he also won a huge breaking ball. Surrounded by Kerrymen, he displayed great basketball hands to retain possession and find one of his teammates. He was the difference between the teams and is now certainly Player of the Year.
A goal was going to be particularly important between two very even teams. The two sides broke even at midfield, on breaking ball, on the wide count and on the turnover tally.
Tommy McGuigan scored a fortuitous goal for Tyrone after Diarmuid Murphy saved well from Kevin Hughes while at the other end, Kerry failed to get anything out of either of their big chances. The unfortunate circumstances that dictated that Pascal McConnell was in goals worked very much in Tyrone's favour. In the first half when Kerry were in the ascendancy, he made himself big and the target small as Tommy Walsh raced in on goal and he swatted away the Strand Road man's effort.
McConnell was then involved in the game-deciding incident in the 67th minute. With Kerry a point down Declan O'Sullivan (Kerry's best player) burst through the middle and went for the jugular. A goal at this stage would have buried Harte's side. O'Sullivan has scored these huge goals time and again to push Kerry over the line. Remember the semi-final against Cork and last year against Dublin and Monaghan? Yesterday however, McConnell got down to his low drive and pushed it around the post. The resultant 45 was missed. It lifted Tyrone and they finished better.

How Kerry lost and how 2 beat Tyrone
I wasnt trying to analyse I was indeed saying how kerry lost and how to beat them John Boss. Yes there are many other reasons why Kerry lost to Tyrone, der game plan, der workrate, der physicality, der team play, der trust in each other. yes I think d McMahons outplayed der opponents wen ever d ball came in which it was fairly decent, but werent all of Kerry bar Dec O nd Gooch outplayed. You could also argue dat Kerry hit some very bad wides aswell. I no cavanagh keeps his mouth shut nd lets d football do the talking nd you hit the nail on the head its because of his surging runs. But will any one agree dat dis goading cannot be ignored and it has to be stood up to??? Did you read the comments Dooher was saying to Oisin Mc Conville in his book during games? The only way the Kerry players beat Tyrones goading is dont let it get under der skin, to laugh back at der face and tel dem wat its like to win back 2 back all irelands, play der own game of football, man 2 man kerry are better. I can assure you d Mc Mahons didnt make things easy to listen to for walshe OR donaghy, maybe not AHHHHHH IM SCREAMING AT YOU DONAGHY, RANDOMLY, FOR 70 MINUTES, AHHHHHHH (funny man michaelo) You may not of seen walshe or donaghy talk back but it deffinetly was getting under der skin, why did d former footballer of d year and d best 20 year old in d country av a bad game?
Ah id say MichaelO wud fit dat description of a Modicom of football Knowledge:). Ricey? My own county plays d blanket defence, 2 man full forward, d half forwards tracking back, half back line nd midfield surging forward on an attack, its westmeaths new style, shur mite aswel give it away seeing everybody knows it, Maybe we need to do the goading!

lets all realise that the people who sign in to kerry's are not sportspeople. theyre spiteful border line gaa fans who just want their shot at the wounded beast. lets forget about these stupid jibes that at the end of the day mean nothing and discuss proper issues. Kerry are a great team, tyrone are a great team. we can argue about whos better without resorting to spiteful comments. period.

173444 Dellboypolecat,do you really think tyrone would have won an all ireland if they had of won a handy ulster title......because i dont.....i also believe if they had of beaten down, tyrone would not near where they are now.....so show your fellow ulster teams some respect....they keep the ulster championship extremely competitive which can only help tyrone......
....as for kerry try not to watch the ulster championship next year.....i dont want ye getting jealous....hahahahahaha....still whinging after last year are ye...>>??
First of all i never knocked your county so what are you on about respect . "...but to imply that Kerry lost to Tyrone 3 times becuase of the managers is a little unfair ..." _________________________________________
I didn't imply that. I said this year the main reason we lost is because ye had a better manager and a better team work ethic. If we had Mickey Harte and Tyrone had Pat O' Shea I believe Kerry would have won.

3inarow08, I thought you might disagree on that point but it is my view. In Kerry Tomas O Se, Dara O Se, Gooch and the Star are better than good footballers. In Tyrone we have Ricey, O Neill, Mulligan, Cavaangh, Dooher,Jordan, Harte, Mc Guigan who would fall into the same category. Harte is agood manager but to imply that Kerry lost to Tyrone 3 times becuase of the managers is a little unfair on managers who between them have won 5 All_Irelands.
I can't see how we could come to agree on this point but I do respect your viewpoint.
