The late Bernie O'Connor The death of Fitzgerald Stadium groundsman, Bernie O'Connor saddened all of his GAA colleagues, who turned out in big numbers to attend his funeral. Bernie gave a lifetime commitment to the GAA, not alone in Fitzgerald Stadium but his beloved Legion club. He was also an officer of Board na nOg Chiarrai in its early days but it was as groundsman at the stadium where he came in contact with so many teams, players, team managers and supporters that he will be most remembered.
