Quarterfinal weekend in SFC

September 29, 2016

The four quarterfinals in the Kerry senior football championship are down for decision this weekend.

Fitzgerald Stadium hosts two attractive double headers over the coming days as the Killarney venue should see good crowds on both Saturday and Sunday.

Two club teams clash as Dr Crokes and Kerins O'Rahillys go head to head. The Killarney outfit are favourites to go through, but if O'Rahillys can get big performances from the likes of David Moran, Tommy Walsh and Barry John Keane, they could cause their opponents problems.

South Kerry put their title on the line against a Dingle side that has been knocking on the door for the past few years. The defending champions are slight favourites, but this could be another tight affair.

On Sunday Austin Stacks should see off Kenmare District in the first of the afternoon's quarterfinals.

Then Rathmore and Mid Kerry do battle and the former look to have the stronger side on paper, but that may could for little.
