A nose injury ruled Peter Crowley out of Kerry's Munster SFC final win over Tipperary but he's raring to go now ahead of their quarter-final clash on Sunday week.

The Kingdom defender sustained a nasty knock in a training collision with Johnny Buckley.

"I took a bit of a knock at training got a bit of a puck on the nose," he revealed to The Irish Daily Star.

"I was trying up until the last minute to play (against Tipperary) but my breathing just wasn't right.

"When you've a quality player like Mahony (Aidan O'Mahony) or (Jonathan) Lyne on the bench, you're only being selfish saying you can play. You'd only be doing them a detriment by putting yourself ahead of the team.

"Johnny Buckley has got a hard forehead. He's like my best friend. I lived with him for four years in college.

"He came off with a little tiny scar! Ah, it was just bad.

"It will like a scene out of Braveheart, the boys were telling me. I could have been an extra out of Braveheart.

"It's good now. I got an operation on the Monday after the Munster final so that settled it down as well."
