Kerry SFC: South Kerry on a collision course with Austin Stacks

The last two winners of the Kerry SFC have been drawn against each other in round 2A.

Holders South Kerry have been paired with Austin Stacks following their 3-10 to 1-15 victory over Kerins O'Rahilly's at Austin Stack Park today.

Tommy Walsh netted the goal for O'Rahilly's but they lost out by the narrowest of margins after South Kerry overturned a 1-6 to 1-11 half-time deficit.

Austin Stacks booked their place in the winners group draw with a five point victory (1-16 to 2-8) over East Kerry at Lewis Road yesterday evening.

A return of 0-10 (7 frees) from David Mannix sent the Tralee men on the road to victory.

Dr Crokes, meanwhile, justified their favourites tag with an emphatic 22 point victory over a West Kerry yesterday.

Tony Brosnan top scored for the Killarney outfit with 2-7.

Last year's defeated finalists Legion easily accounted for Milltown Castlemaine by 5-11 to 0-7 while, in other results today, Mid Kerry edged out Kilcummin, 3-12 to 1-13; St Kieran's defeated Feale Rangers by 1-17 to 1-15; Dingle saw off the challenge of Rathmore (2-8 to 1-16) and Kenmare advanced at the expense of St Brendan's, 1-16 to 1-10.

The second round draw took place this evening and resulted as follows:

Round 2A

South Kerry v Austin Stacks

St Kierans v Dr Crokes

Kenmare v Legion

Mid Kerry v Dingle

Round 2B:

Kerins O' Rahillys v Feale Rangers

Kilcummin v West Kerry

Milltown/Castlemaine v East Kerry

St Brendans v Rathmore

In Round 2 the eight winners will be against each other in Round 2A with the winners of those games advancing to the quarter finals and the losers advancing to Round 3A.

Meanwhile, Round 1 losers will be paired against each other in Round 2B and the losers of those games will exit the competition.

The winners in 2B will advance to Round 3B where they will be drawn against the 4 teams in 3A.
