Kieran Donaghy was the 'MVP' as St Brendan's, Tralee got the better of Leixlip Nemunas in the inaugural Hula Hoops Men's National Basketball Intermediate Club Championships Final today.

A man of many talents, the 2006 Footballer of the Year clocked up 18 points, 26 rebounds and 12 assists as the Tralee outfit prevailed by 78-60.

He'll be hoping for another Kerry victory this evening when his gaelic football team-mates take on Dublin in their Allianz FL Division 1 opener against Dublin at Croke Park.

'Star' is not due back at Kerry training until round 2 of the Allianz FL Division 1 is completed but Eamonn Fitzmaurice will be glad to hear that he's been keeping himself in good shape!
