Eamonn Fitzmaurice got his tactics spot on as Kerry claimed their 77th Munster SFC title at Cork's expense but, afterwards, the man himself deflected all the praise on to his players.
The Kingdom supremo and his backroom team mixed things up a lot between the drawn encounter and tonight's replay, both in terms of personnel and gameplan, but, speaking to RTE, he downplayed his role: "I think too much can be read into that.
"It's about the squad, we have 26 fellas, 21 players in action tonight and they all did their bit.
"Five of the other lads are obviously disappointed they didn't get game time and they're going to be ready to go again on Tuesday evening as well as the lads that didn't make the squad.
"It's a squad effort, different fellas so well on different nights and thankfully the squad effort was enough to get us through in the end."
Fitzmaurice's brother-in-law Paul Galvin also saw some game time towards the end of the 1-11 to 1-6 success.
"Again he deserved it on merit. He has trained well over the last couple of weeks. He was unlucky coming into the championship, he had a bit of an injury, with his preparations being interrupted but he has a couple of good weeks under the belt now. A five or 10 minute cameo tonight will help him take it a step further."
On the subject of the challenge provided by the Rebels, the Finuge clubman remarked: "It was a ferocious battle, nothing more than what we expected.
"In case any of us needed any reminding we saw that the first day in the drawn game, we know what Cork can bring and they really brought it again this evening.
"We had to be at the top of our game to win and thankfully we were."
