St Brendans are looking forward to next year after exiting the 2015 county senior football championship with heads held high.

Brendans were defeated by Shannon Rangers by 1-20 to 2-14 on Saturday night and manager Mark Burke told The Kerryman:

"I thought the lads acquited themsevles well despite the result. We made some changes at midfield at half time that led to the scoring of our second goal but when Shannon Rangers managed to get a grip on us at midfield I felt that's where the game was lost.

"We spoke in the huddle afterwards about what we would try and do to improve things next year and put in proper mechanisms and a focus for the team.

"It never will be easy with the way all the fixtures tend to clash around county championship time in Kerry with other competitions, but I think the key is to try and have a number of meet-ups and sessions done before the Easter period."
