Kerry Ladies updates

June 23, 2015

The Randles Bros Nissan Championship kicks into gear this weekend with semi final & quarter finals across many grades. There is also a final in the mix.
In the Randles Bros Nissan Intermediate Championship Final Rathmore Junior A Champions in 2014 will face Na Gaeil. Both teams have a mix of youth & experience, with Na Gaeil winning the All Ireland Junior Club title in 2013. Rathmore feature many inter county under age stars & have been very consistent the past few years climbing through the grades. It will be very close game, but with Rathmore playing in Division 1 of the Rhyno Quality Feeds Co.League it may stand to them. Venue & time TBC.
In the Randles Bros Nissan Senior Club Championship Southern Gaels & Castleisland Desmonds faced off in a cracker game on Monday 22nd in Castleisland. In a very intense encounter which featured  11 goals, 37 points, 2 sin bins, 1 red card & extra time, Southern Gaels came out on top. Final Score Castleisland Desmonds 4-22 Southern Gaels 7-15. They now face Scartaglen in semi final on Sunday, with Laune Rangers home to Inbhear Sceine Gaels also on Sunday. Expecting Southern Gaels & Laune Rangers to come through based on league form.

In the Randles Bros Nissan Junior A Championship quarter finals Dr Crokes play Kilcummin while Abbeydorney host John Mitchels in Abbeydorney at 12. East Kerry neighbours both had good league campaigns with result extremely too close to call. While Abbeydorney had a poor league campaign, with John Mitchels winning out their division & defeating them heavily in earlier rounds, would expect the Tralee side to come out top here.

In the Randles Bros Nissan Junior B Championship quarter finals, Dromid are home to Clounmacon/Moyvane, Spa host Finuge St Senans, Milltown Listry take on Causeway and Firies play Annascaul/Castlegregory.  Based on league form & players available due to injuries/travel would expect Clounmacon/Moyvane, Finuge St Senans & Annascaul/Castlegregory to come through. The Miltown/Listry v Causeway very close to call. Miltown/Listry finished extremely strong in the Div 4 final, while Causeway lost out by the slimmest margins in their Div 3 final.

Finally Randles Bros Nissan Junior C Championship Currow play Beale, Fossa take on Legion.  Based again on consistency in league would expect Currow & Fossa to come through here.

Best of luck to the Kerry teams heading to Feile's this weekend. Division 1 champions Corca Dhuibhne will be competing in Portlaoise in the Regional Competition. While Division 3 Champions Currow are heading to Wexford for the National.
Also participating in the Provincial Féile in Mallow are Rathmore, Fossa & Miltown/Listry. Congratulations to Mairead Ui Chiobhan of Corca Dhuibhne who placed 4th at the National Féile Skills competition recently.
