Jonathan Lyne hopes to retain his Kerry starting shirt for the Munster SFC final on July 5th.

The 25-year-old delivered a strong championship-debut display against Tipperary in Thurles last weekend and will certainly come into Eamonn Fitzmaurice's consideration for the provincail final showdown against the Rebels.

"I've been working hard in training and concentrating on my own game, that's all I can do at the moment," he states in The Kerryman. "The competition is unreal.

"When I was told I was playing I was delighted but it's back to the training field again where everything is up for grabs. Obviously, I was happy to get the start.

"I've played a lot of league games it's not as if I'm a newbie to it. I've been around for a few years so it wasn't a whole lot different, but there was a very fast pace to the first fifteen minutes. If felt like real championship pace but that dropped off a bit in the second half."
