Kerry manager Eamonn Kelly feels that he has 22 players fighting for 15 places as the Kingdom continue their quest for Christy Ring Cup glory.

The NHL 2A champions survived a major scare against Meath last weekend to advance to the semi-final of the second tier All-Ireland championship.

Kelly has been impressed by a number of players during the campaign so far and he admitted to the Kerryman that it was difficult to choose his preferred starting fifteen.

"If I knew my starting fifteen I'm in trouble," said Kelly. "I think we've a lot more guys coming, we now have 22 guys fighting for 15 jerseys.

"Unless we get to that state we're not going anywhere. You look at Croke Park last year and the options were not as strong as they are this year and that's starting to pay dividends and that's why I was happier with the second half display against Meath."
