Kieran Donaghy has become the latest high profile GAA player to quit his job to concentrate on his sport and family commitments.

The Irish Independent reports that the Kingdom captain will leave Ulster Bank at the end of this week and that he has taken a leaf out of Donegal defender Karl Lacey's book by revealing that he won't seek employment until their participation in this year's championship comes to an end.

Ironically, Lacey also worked with Ulster Bank before completing a master's degree in sports performance at UL last January.

Donaghy's Kerry team-mate Darran O'Sullivan is another player who quit Ulster Bank to take up a role as an athlete mentor with Sky Sports because the hours fitted better into his Kerry commitments.

'Star' and his wife Hilary are expecting a child later this year and that is also believed to have been a major factor in his decision.
