Donegal warmed up for this Sunday's All-Ireland final rematch against Kerry with a challenge victory over Galway last Monday night in Tourlestrane.

Both counties fielded second string sides and the Ulster outfit ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-17 to 1-17.

From Rory Gallagher's point of view, it gave him the opportunity to get game time into the likes of Colm McFadden, Darach O'Connor, Ryan Malley, Eoin McHugh, Gary McFadden, Martin McElhinney and Declan Walsh.

"It was a useful workout and one we had planned for some time and it was a good run out for the likes of Colm McFadden who is working his way back to fitness," the manager outlined to The Donegal Democrat.

Gallagher is demanding a response from his players in Tralee following last weekend's defeat to Monaghan.

"We will be looking for a much improved performance against Kerry than the one we put in against Monaghan, albeit we were in the game right up to the closing minutes.

"Both sides will be hurting after losing to local rivals at the weekend. But we will not concern ourselves too much with how Kerry are feeling.

"Our concentration is getting back into action and producing the kind of performance we are capable of producing."
