"It's not about me," says modest Brosna hero

December 11, 2014

Adam Barry was a modest man after his seven points inspired Brosna to glory in the Munster junior club football championship final.

Barry's personal haul was clearly the decisive factor in the Kerry champions' 0-15 to 2-6 defeat of Glin in Mallow last Sunday but the 20-year-old wasn't about to hog the limelight:

"It's not about me. This is a team and a great team at that," the corner forward told The Kerryman. "Of course I am delighted with the way I played myself but equally I am thrilled with the way we all played and the way we battled back after conceding two goals.

"You can't take anyone for granted at this stage and we didn't take Glin for granted, but that doesn't mean you can stop everything.

"They were committed and skilful and managed to close us down well. They got plenty of bodies behind the ball, so they were hard to break down."
