Shannon Rangers overcame odds of 9/2 to beat South Kerry 3-11 to 1-9 in their Kerry SFC quarter-final clash in Tralee on Saturday.

Paul Kennelly scored 1-9 for the North Kerry divisional side who also had goal-scorers in Mikey Boyle and substitute Paul Costello. County star Shane Enright had an outstanding game at full back for the surprise winners.

Also on Saturday at Austin Stack Park, Kerry minor Matthew Flaherty's late goal, which came after Paul Geaney's shot had been partly blocked, handed Dingle a dramatic 2-9 to 2-8 victory over James O'Donoghue's Legion.

In yesterday's double-header at a wet and windy Fitzgerald Stadium, meanwhile, Donnchadh Walsh was the inspiration behind Mid-Kerry's 2-14 to 1-9 victory over Laune Rangers, while Shane Carroll's dead ball expertise proved decisive as Austin Stacks enjoyed a double-scores win, 0-14 to 0-7, over West Kerry.

The draw for the semi-finals will be made at lunchtime today.
