Tomas Ó Sé has joked that younger brother Marc mightn't speak to him for a month after he omitted him from his All Star selection.

The former Footballer of the Year also expects to be in former Kerry team-mate Kieran Donaghy's bad books after leaving him out as well.

Writing in his Irish Independent column, Ó Sé stated: "Sitting down to pick my team of the year I realise the hazard that leaving out a player is. It is no easy task. But I had simple criteria.

"For me the time the time to perform is Championship. Provincial final, 'quarter', 'semi' and final. That was where you won your All Star. They were the biggest games. You prove yourself in the biggest games."

For the record, Tomas' selection includes six each from Kerry and Donegal, two Dublin players and one from Mayo.

His All Star selection is: Paul Durcan (Donegal); Aidan O'Mahony (Kerry), Neil McGee (Donegal), Keith Higgins (Mayo); Paul Murphy (Kerry), Peter Crowley (Kerry), Frank McGlynn (Donegal); David Moran (Kerry), Neil Gallagher (Donegal); Paul Flynn (Dublin), Diarmuid Connolly(Dublin), Donnchadh Walsh (Kerry); James O'Donoghue (Kerry), Michael Murphy (Donegal), Ryan McHugh (Donegal).
