A Kerry club player suffered a serious head injury in an accidental fall last weekend.

Listowel Emmetts captain Denis Walsh was attending a stag in Galway when he accidentally fell and he has been in an induced coma in Beaumont Hospital since.

Walsh lead his club to glory in the North Kerry football championship final last year and the popular player is in the thoughts and prayers of all who know him.

Listowel Emmetts' secretary Norah Browne told the Kerryman: "All of us in Listowel Emmetts and Feale Rangers are thinking of Denis and his family and girlfriend now and praying for his recovery."
