Strong words aided juniors

August 15, 2014
Kerry junior football manager Stephen Wallace revealed that there were 'strong words' said in the dressing at half time of their All-Ireland semi final win over Sligo last weekend.

The game was very much poised at the short whistle before Kerry cut loose in the second half to run out comfortable victors in the end.

Wallace admitted to the Kerryman that there were no niceties at half time follow a poor showing in the opening 35 minutes.

"We were worried in the dressingroom at half time and there were a few strong words," said Wallace. The lads came out in the second half and responded.

"I though this was the first big test for them. We hadn't really been tested up until the semi final bar for ten or 12 minutes against Cork, but they stood up to the challenge."

Kerry now go on and meet Cavan in the final after they defeated Scotland in the other semi final, also played last weekend.
