Kerry selector Mikey Sheehy is pleased with the progress that the county have made this year.

The Kingdom are back in the last four of the All-Ireland championship following their win over Galway last weekend and now they face Mayo in the semi final.

Sheehy believes that the fact Mayo go into the match as favourites suits Kerry as expectations are not as high as they generally are.

"We're exactly where we want to be, getting ready for an All-Ireland semi final and going in as underdogs," Sheehy told the Kerryman.

"The main hope now is to get two great weeks of training into us and hope to avoid any injuries. We have no distractions now, with regard to club games or anything else, so we are really looking forward to it."
