James O'Donoghue (Kerry), Karl Lacey (Donegal), Jonny Cooper (Dublin) and Robert Hennelly (Mayo) helped launch the 2014 All-Ireland football series at the Mansion House Dublin today.

The representatives from the four provincial winning counties were joined by GAA President-elect Aogán Ó Fearghail who said: "At this stage of the football Championship, everyone's eyes are fixed on getting to Croke Park on September 21 and lifting Sam Maguire.

"We have seen some great football across the four provinces to date and I have no doubt that between now and All-Ireland final day we will have more exciting games to savour.

"Our four provincial champions all look to be strong contenders to win the Championship, however we all know that All-Ireland champions have emerged from the qualifiers in the past so the round four winners will be well capable of upsetting the odds.

"At this time of the year - the heart quickens, the weather warms, the pace quickens and we are all really looking forward to the remainder of the Championship."

As it stands, there are 11 games remaining (without the possible need for replays) before the destination of the Sam Maguire for 2014 will be known.
