Byrnes: Crokes have plenty to play for

July 17, 2014
Dr Crokes manager Martin Byrnes has stressed that they still have plenty to play for this year.

The Killarney outfit may be out of the county championship following their defeat to neighbours Legion, but they are still in the club championship.

Should a divisional side win the county championship then the winners of the club championship will represented Kerry in the Provincial campaign.

"We are a young team, it is over in the championship right now, but we still have to play for what we have," Byrnes told the Kerryman.

"We have the club title to play for. It is important for us to get back on the horse as soon as possible. We have a back game in the league to look forward to and maybe if a divisional side win in the championship then there could be a lot to play for.

"For now, we put the head down and be as professional as we can with the games we have for the rest of the season."
