As many did at the time, Dan spent a few years in England where he made lots of friends. He returned home to be with his brother Jim and sister-in-law Margaret.
From 1970 and 1980, Dan worked for Kerry County Council. He was also a great help to his neighbours, giving them a hand in the bog when needed and he was also a great help to Margaret doing jobs around the home for her. He enjoyed a game of darts and cards and was also a keen fisherman who loved to catch a salmon or two.
Dan liked to have a few points on his way home he loved socialising and was always seen around the roads and villages on his motorbike.
His family would like to say a special thank you to his sister-in-law Margaret for supporting and caring for him during his two-year battle with cancer.
Dan's removal took place from Daly's Funeral Home to Scartaglin Church and on Friday, December 13th he was buried in St Michael's Cemetery, Killentierna, Currow.
