All-Ireland club JFC SF: Violent scenes mar Derrytresk win
January 23, 2012
Derrytresk's 1-10 to 0-7 win over Dromid Pearses was marred by violent scenes on Sunday afternoon.
It was unfortunate that the Tyrone and Ulster champions achievement will be overshadowed by the brawls that took part just before half time and the fact that Kerry star Declan O'Sullivan was struck by a handbag and then by a Derrytresk supporter as he left the field at the end of the game.
At the time of the initial brawl which saw officials and substitutes become embroiled, Derrytresk were leading by 0-4 to 0-3.
In the second half, the Ulster side let their football do the talking and inspired by Niall Gavin, who scored five points after the interval, they never looked like losing.
