Favier, Joe

June 17, 2009
There was shock and sadness in the Glenflesk community when the news came of the sudden passing of Joe Favier. Joe lead a varied life. He worked as a senior civil servant in England for many years where he was highly regarded. Back home, he was one of the first to take up a role as PRO and served as the PRO for Glenflesk club during the late 1980s and early 1990s. After that he moved on to the East Kerry Board, where he also served as PRO. His commitment to his community brought him to be involved in the Barraduff Community Council. People who knew Joe travelled to pay their last respects. In recognition of his contribution and as a mark of respect and regard in which he was held, Glenflesk GAA club had a guard of honour for Joe. May be rest in peace. - The Kerryman, 17th June 2009
