O'Carroll, John

May 06, 2009
The Late John O'Carroll Sympathies are extended. On Monday April 27th the sad news also emerged of the passing of John O'Carroll R.I.P. of Killelton. Johnny as he was more affectionately known was a very quiet and very friendly man whose passing came as an unexpected and sad shock to the community. At 92 years of age Johnny had seen some of the good times of life, living through the previous recessionary times of the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s when things in rural Ireland were at a very low ebb. It was in the late 50s that he met and married the girl of his life Nell Flynn, they settled in killeton where they reared a family of two boys Jim and Eugene along with two girls Nora and Ellen. However, despite the tough times they had a lovely and happy home where neighbours and friends were greed with warmth and friendliness. To his beloved wife Nell, sons Jim and Eugene, daughters Nora and Ellen sons in laws and daughter in law, grandchildren, relatives and wide circle of friends the sympathy of the community is extended. Johnny's remains were removed from Lynch's Funeral home on Tuesday April 28th at 8pm to St Michael's Church. Requiem mass and with burial afterwards in Lislaughtin Abbey.
