Zach Tuohy and Mark O'Connor won't feature in this year's AFL Grand final after Geelong were beaten 66-85 by Richmond in the first of the Preliminary Finals overnight.

Former Kerry minor star O'Connor started at half-back for the Cats and picked up 18 disposals and six marks, while Laois' Tuohy, who was an interchange selection, kicked a behind as well as picking up 26 disposals and four marks.

Richmond will face the winners of Greater Western Sydney Giants and Collingwood in the Grand Final next Saturday, September 28.
