The UUJ huddle

There were wins for Ulster University and Maynooth University in today’s Sigerson Cup action.

UUJ came from behind to record a 1-13 to 1-8 win over IT Tralee at John Mitchels’ grounds.

With Kerry star Jack Savage very much to the fore, the hosts led by 0-7 to 0-4 at the midway point but the visitors hit 1-6 without reply after the break to take control of proceedings.

Mayo star Patrick Durcan netted the winners' goal while Gareth McKinless (UUJ) and Greg Horan (IT Tralee) both saw red in the second-half in separate incidents.

Meanwhile, Maynooth came away from The Dub with a hard-earned 0-9 to 0-8 victory over Queen's University under their belt.

They shaded the first-half exchanges by 0-5 to 0-4 and Kildare's Padraig Fogarty top scored for the winners with 0-5 from full-forward.
