Dr Crokes selector Edmund O'Sullivan admits that Colm Cooper isn't happy about being confined to the role of impact sub.

However, he says the Gooch's attitude has been top class since losing his place to rising star Tony Brosnan. With the Kerry legend ruled out through illness, Brosnan came into the team and took his chance with both hands by scoring 1-14 in the Killarney club's Kerry SFC third round victory over An Gaeltacht in September, and has kept his place ever since.

"The reason Colm is not starting is that he was sick when we played An Ghaeltacht and Tony Brosnan came in and scored 1-14," O'Sullivan explained after Crokes' Munster club SFC semi-final rout of St Finbarr's.

"If you look at Colm, he's one of the best players that ever played the game and his attitude in training is spot on. He's not sulking, he's not doing anything like that. He's leading by example the whole time. So if he's doing it, then the rest of them have to fall into place.

"I'd be lying to you if I said Colm is happy coming on, of course not. The same with Jordan Kiely, Michael Potts and all these fellas. I think what's pushing everyone on is the quality of our training."
