Former Kerry selector Diarmuid Murphy is the favourite to succeed Eamonn Fitzmaurice.

Murphy, who was a selector alongside Fitzmaurice in recent years, has been installed as 11/10 favourite by Paddy Power.

Fitzmaurice stepped down from the position this week having failed to guide the Kingdom to this year's All-Ireland SFC semi-finals.

Even though Murphy has been installed as the bookies favourite, there is gathering support for either Peter Keane or Jack O'Connor to get the job.

Keane is second favourite at 3/1 and O'Connor is 10/3 with Paddy Power, while Kerry legend Maurice Fitzgerald is rated as 6/1.

O'Connor has had huge success at minor level with the county in recent years, while he also has experience of winning an All-Ireland SFC with the county having served as senior manager on two separate occasions.

However, down Kerry way, the name on most people's lips is Peter Keane, but his immediate thoughts will be on the Kerry minors' All-Ireland semi-final against Monaghan on Sunday.
