Ó Sé: they need to get this appointment right

Former Kerry great Tomas O'Se in the Nemo Rangers colours

Tomás Ó Sé won't be putting his name forward for consideration as Eamonn Fitzmaurice's replacement but he would love to see some of his former team-mates involved in the Kerry management set-up for 2019.

"They need to get this appointment right," the Sunday Game pundit commented on Independent.ie's GAA podcast, the Throw-In.

"The usual suspects will be Peter Keane because he's done so well with the minors, Tommy Griffin is with him. I'd love to see somebody like (Seamus) Moynihan get involved, I'd love to see Declan O'Sullivan get involved, I'd love to see Maurice Fitzgerald... not just because they're iconic but they are actually coaching at club level in Kerry at the moment and doing quite well.

"There's Donie Buckley free at the moment and to be fair, he made Mayo fairly competitive with his brief of 1-9 and that's an area where Kerry have been lacking. That guy should be involved in it.

"Peter Keane would probably be the first man in, Jack (O'Connor) would have to be considered as well."

When asked if it's a job that would appeal to him, he joked: "I'm too busy talking and making money I suppose. I'm down in Cork lads, I'm going for the Cork job."
