An ankle injury will once again rule Shane Enright out of Kerry's Munster SFC final against Cork in eight days' time.

The defender, whose last appearance for the Kingdom came in a 2-17 to 0-11 Allianz League defeat to Dublin on March 11, still hasn't fully recovered from surgery.

"It's probably a week too soon for him," Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice told the Irish Daily Mirror at last night's press briefing.

Mikey Geaney is also an injury doubt for the Pairc Ui Chaoimh decider, but Donnchadh Walsh, Daithi Casey and Killian Young will be available.

"We're a week out from the game so hopefully we pick nothing up in the meantime," Fitzmaurice continued.

"There's good depth there. I think most seasons, to be honest, we've had fairly deep panels. In 2014 and 2015, the panels were very strong. There was serious competition just to get into the 26. I think you need that if you are going to be successful. If you can make the Super 8s, you are going to need that depth.

"We've seen it with the Munster hurling championship. A lot of things can happen in those couple of weeks.

"There's going to be serious competition for places, be it the starting 15, lads coming in as subs or making the 26. That makes our job tougher - that's a great position to be in."
