Longford GAA has been accused of paying lip service to hurling in the county after a SHC game was postponed last night because there were no match officials in attendance.

Wolfe Tones of Edgesworthstown and Longford Slashers were due to meet in Allen Park, Newtownforbes at 7.45pm, but the game wasn't played.

On their Facebook page, Wolfe Tones slammed the county board for treating the two teams with the "utmost disrespect" and for not giving an explanation as to why no match officials were present.

"No explanation was given and all of the 50 adults players who rushed from their various jobs, family commitments etc., at their own expense, were left to wonder why are they treated in such a shameful way. This is not good enough and cannot be tolerated," the post read.
