Maurice Shanahan admits Waterford were spurred on by the absence of Tadhg de Burca on Sunday.

With their inspirational sweeper suspended, Na Deise still managed to see off Munster champions Cork to seal their place in the 2017 All-Ireland SHC final against Galway:

"It definitely drove us on," Shanahan told The Irish Daily Mirror. "All week people were getting distracted but we weren't getting distracted at all - we focused. If Tadhg was playing, he was playing. If he wasn't, he wasn't and we had to do it for him.

"In that dressing room we were going out and the last word was to do it for that man. We did it for that man and thankfully Tadhg is back to play Galway.

"Just like Tadhg, Conor Gleeson has been fantastic all year for us and hopefully he'll be back. If not, we'll do it for him."
