Sunday Game analyst Ger Loughnane believes that Waterford's Austin Gleeson could be in hot water following an incident with Cork opponent Luke Meade in this afternoon's All-Ireland SHC semi-final.
Gleeson appeared to pull off Meade's helmet during the first-half of the Deise men's victory at Croke Park although the big Mount Sion man did not receive any punishment from the referee, the concern for manager Derek McGrath is that he may be cited by the CCC which would rule him out of next month's final against Galway.
It looks like McGrath will already have to make do without Conor Gleeson for September 3rd after the midfielder was sent off following an incident with Cork's Patrick Horgan.
"Is it dangerous? No. Is it deliberate? Yes. Is it violent? No. How will it be looked after that? I don't know. But it is interference with a helmet, he can't deny that," Loughnane stated on the RTE programme.
"He pulls the helmet off Luke Meade. How Aussie Gleeson gets involved in these incidents just beats me. With all the controversies there was about Tadhg de Búrca..."
