Warwickshire manager Tony Joyce.

Warwickhsire manager Tony Joyce has revealed that it was always their aim to get to Croke Park this year.

The Exiles have managed to do so with a game to spare in the Lory Meagher Cup group stage and they can now prepare accordingly for the decider.

Joyce stated to the Irish Post that they have been working towards this all year, but he added that now the aim was to go and win the title.

"The aim at the start of the year was to get back to Croke Park," said Joyce. "The Lory Meagher has been great for Warwickshire hurling and we've put in a lot of hard work to reach another final.

"Some of the results have flattered us because there's so little between the teams. We want to go on and win the competition now. The challenge in the next few weeks is to get the players fresh and make sure they're ready for Croke Park."
