Podge Collins has called on the Munster Council to fix next summer's provincial hurling semi-final between Clare and Limerick for either Cusack Park or the Gaelic Grounds.

The dual star, who has yet to make a decision on whether to combine both football and hurling or to concentrate on just one code next year, believes there would be much interest in the local derby clash than if it was fixed for Semple Stadium.

"Hopefully it will be in the Gaelic Grounds or Cusack Park and we get a massive crowd instead of bringing everyone to Thurles," Collins is quoted as saying in the Irish Daily Star.

"It puts you in the Munster final if you win it, so both teams are going to be licking their lips at the idea. It is one game.

"Look at Tipp and Cork. They have a much tougher route in the sense they have a tough game to get into a Munster semi-final, where they are going to have to play against Waterford, who are very much a form team this year.

"I suppose Limerick and Clare will be happy enough to get into a semi-final and it is going to be a close game. That is all I know."
