According to reports from within Clare, Davy Fitzgerald could be the latest intercounty manager to feel the wrath of player power.
The Clare People is reporting that a number of the Banner County's players have "indicated privately" that they want a change of manager for 2017, throwing the future of their 2013 All-Ireland winning boss into serious doubt.
Fitzgerald - who has a year left on his contract - has already indicated that he isn't sure what his intentions are for next season, commenting following a recent health scare that "the most important thing in life if life".
Clare's hurlers are believed to be planning to meet later this week to discuss the situation and - if there is any truth in the reports that they want change - the enigmatic Sixmilebridge man is unlikely to remain at the Banner County helm.
