Fermanagh celebrate with the 2015 Lory Meagher Cup in Croke Park

Fermanagh lost out to Monaghan in the opening round of the Nicky Rackard Cup last weekend and all bar one of their panel came from the Lisbellaw club.

Remarkably, there is only one hurling club in Fermanagh, so it is easy to see why the management team focused on the Lisbellaw players.

Plying their trade in the Ulster club league, Lisbellaw have seen an upturn in their fortunes in recent years, but the fact that they have no competition in their own county is a cause for concern.

Over the years, the number of teams has dwindled down to just the one, and although there are six teams now competing at under-12 level in the county, it will be a while before Lisbellaw have some real competition in Fermanagh.
