Two goals apiece from Colin Dunford and Chris Bolger were key ingredients in IT Carlow's 4-17 to 2-14 Group B victory over St Pat's, Drumcondra at Na Fianna's grounds today.

The DJ Carey managed outfit made it two wins from as many outings, having got the better of DCU last week, while it was a second defeat in-a-row for the Drumcondra students who lost out to WIT in the opening group game.

Dunford struck first for the winners and Bolger got in on the goal scoring act with a brace to give their side a 3-6 to 1-7 interval lead.

St Pat's pulled back a goal early in the second-half through Eoin McIntyre but, with Laois' Stephen 'Picky' Maher to the fore (0-11), Carey's charges refused to ease their foot off the gas.

Waterford star Dunford applied the gloss to their victory with a second green flag in the closing stages and the win all but books their place in the quarter-final stages.
