Tyrone GAA is hosting a pioneering national seminar on successful County GAA fund-raising models in its Garvaghey Centre, this Saturday, 28 November.

"Funding is a central concern for every County" Tyrone Chair Roisin Jordan explained, "but at the same time there are a lot of good models in place and our seminar is about Gaels coming together to share that good practice."

The Tyrone event will look at a number of planned-giving models (the 'Club Tyrone-type' approach) as well as other successful initiatives such as the Down GAA Club/County Draw and the Longford GAA Race-Day. There will also be a focus on what's good practice in County sponsorship, led by Paul McAnallen of Shift-Control.

"The GAA is often about competition but it should also always be about collaboration" Roisin Jordan continued.

"All those Counties contributing on Saturday will be there in the proper Gaelic spirit of 'share-and-share-alike'. We're honoured to have inputs from Derry, Down, Longford, Roscommon, Tyrone, Waterford and Wexford and are looking forward to a good day's learning from each other."

• The Tyrone seminar will run from 10.00am to 3.30pm

• It's free-of-charge and food will be provided (though contributions to allay the catering costs will be accepted!)

• The seminar will take place in the Tyrone GAA Centre at Garvaghey, located opposite Kelly's Inn about 5 miles north of the Ballygawley roundabout on the main A5 Dublin/Monaghan/Omagh/Derry road

• People interested in attending should book in with Orla O'Neill at [email protected] or at (028) 8556 7723

• Club Tyrone, the GAA's best-known planned-giving model, has raised nearly £4.5m to date for Tyrone GAA
