Limerick hurling received a boost last night when Nickie Quaid played his first game since suffering a collarbone injury in April.
The Treaty County's first-choice goalkeeper played the full hour for his club Effin in their county SHC clash with South Liberties.
Kilmallock's Barry Hennessy deputised for Quaid in Limerick's Munster SHC quarter-final win over Clare and their heavy semi-final loss to Tipperary last Sunday. Quaid's return leaves manager TJ Ryan with a selection headache ahead of Limerick's All-Ireland qualifier away to Westmeath on the weekend after next.
