GAA World Games in Abu Dhabi

Meet two of the very latest recruits to Gaelic Football in the Middle East - Shaker Hambly from Palestine and Fahad Alabri from Oman.

They play on an non-Irish team with Oman Gaels who will compete at the first ever GAA World Games in Abu Dhabi.

'We have a multinational team. We have Polish, Spanish, Egyptian, Canadian, American, you name it! We all meet up in Irish sport', says Shaker.

The driving force behind the team is Irish woman Steph McQuaid who feels that the World Games will be 'fantastic' on March 6/7.

'It will open people's eyes to people playing the sport outside of Ireland, and it will show the passion and love for it outside of Ireland'.
