Hartley questions sending off

Ballygunner manager Fergal Hartley feels that the two yellow cards that Brian O'Sullivan received cost them the game against Cratloe.

Hartley felt that both yellow cards that the forward received were harsh and he questioned Diarmuid Kirwan's decision to send him off.

The second yellow came at a time when Ballygunner were getting a grip on the game, but once O'Sullivan was dismissed, the Clare champions had enough man-power to repel any threat from the home side.

"I think it (sending off) was the difference," Hartley told the Waterford News & Star. "I didn't see much in the foul, maybe there was and someone will tell me different.

"I thought that they were two fairly harmless yellows. Maybe they were deserved, but I didn't see them. That's not to take away from Cratloe. They are an absolutely superb team. They are a superb team of characters in terms of what they have done this year so far to win a double and then to come out here with that hunger, fight and determination after all they have been through this year.

"It's absolutely amazing really that they can do it and it says a huge amount about the club and the players in it."
