Slaugthneil hurling manager Mickey Glover is reporting a clean bill of health ahead of tomorrow's Ulster Club SHC semi-final replay against Cushendall.

Last Sunday, Slaughtneill's footballers completed the Oak Leaf double with a last gasp victory over Ballinderry and all of the club's dual players turned up training last Tuesday night fighting fit.

"Everyone reported back on Tuesday night, full bill of health," he revealed to The Belfast Telegraph.

"I didn't ask them if they had sore heads but a lot of our boys don't drink anyway. I wasn't really worried about that and I wouldn't have been worried if they went for a drink because those lads have got to this level.

"They are sensible lads and they look after themselves. We were back out on Tuesday night, did a recovery session and some hurling and had a good chat with them."

Throw-in at Loughgiel tomorrow is timed for 2.30pm and the Derry champions are looking forward to round two.

"We had done our homework, we do our performance analysis and video analysis with the lads, and we also have looked at Cushendall's games so we know them pretty well from that perspective.

"We know that they will have those lads well prepared. There's no difference for ourselves, people say we are a hurling team full of footballers, but it is a load of nonsense. We are a good hurling team and we proved it last year.

"People say it was a flash in the pan to play Loughgiel like that but we have proved it's not. We can compete with any team in Ireland never mind Ulster.

"We know who we are playing on Sunday, we know it is in their back garden, but we will be prepared for it. Our players are mentally strong and they are afraid of nobody."
